About the Chamber

The Umatilla Chamber of Commerce is a non-profit volunteer business organization whose primary goal is to advance the business interest in the Umatilla Community, and to work with our membership to enhance the quality of life for all of our residents.  We here at the Umatilla Chamber office act as a bureau of information for tourists and visitors.  We are a main resource center, distributing packets of information to those who may be considering relocating to our region, and to visitors to our community.  These packets contain business member referrals, chamber sponsored community events and activities, history of Umatilla, points of interest and any additional requested information.   We have also attempted to provide this same type of information to our on-line visitors through the development of this web-site.

The Chamber is financed by the annual membership dues of our members, and the through the receipt of 50% of the revenue collected by the City of Umatilla through a transient room tax.  Any individual or business is wishing to play a role in the growth and development of Umatilla is invited to become a member.  Chamber membership is an investment toward the future welfare of the community, primarily promotion toward growth, and economic development.  Chamber dues are fully tax deductible as a business expense.

The Chamber consists of a Board of Directors, President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, and our General Membership.  All are volunteers who give of their time, energy, and talents to work together on issues and providing solutions to help the area realize its full potential

Our members are invited to attend our General Membership meeting which are held on the second Thursday of each month at noon at the Desert River Inn.  Topics vary from business, education, legislative issues, to community events and organizations.  The Chamber newsletter is development and mailed to all members prior to the General Membership meeting with the date, time and speaker topic.
