Umatilla is a key crossroad in the Pacific Northwest. Located on the Columbia River, Umatilla provides easy access to river barges, two US highways and an interstate. Umatilla offers a wide range of industrial land with full services available.
Industrial Sites:
More than 320 acres are available for industrial development, retail, and commercial areas with easy access to all forms of transportation. The McNary Industrial Park in Umatilla is the Port of Umatilla's oldest and largest industrial park.
Transportation:
Umatilla has excellent access to freight transportation facilities including two US highways, Hwy. 730 and Hwy. 395; two US Interstate highways, I-82 and I-84; daily Union Pacific Railroad rail service, as well as the Columbia River waterways for the most cost-effective mode of mass transportation to Portland, Pacific Rim and world-wide destinations. There are two commercial airports within 35 miles which provide for convenient air travel.
Utilities:
Existing utilities include water and wastewater services are available through the City of Umatilla, with expansion of those systems currently under construction. Low cost hydroelectric power is available from the dams located on the Columbia River. Natural gas and fiber optic telephone service is also available.
Financial Incentives:
Industrial Development Revenue Bonds, Port Revolving Loan Programs, Local Development Corporation and Enterprise Zone benefits are available.
Community Support:
Comprehensive planning supports economic development. Agricultural products support food processing.
